I am currently an MBA candidate at Eastern Illinois University, where I work as a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Study Abroad. I will be pursing a career in international education in August, with an aim to encourage students to study abroad and travel the world so they will become more knowledgeable and understanding global citizens. If you will be attending the 2014 annual NAFSA conference in San Diego, stop by and see me at the technology poster fair where my collegue and I will be presenting on social media.

​Bishop Taylor Group is a large format printing company based in Chicago that supplies organizations of all sizes with products to help increase their brand awareness. Over the course of my employment I was able to increase traffic to the company website by about 80% through the use of social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest. I also launched and monitored a Google AdWords campaign that generated an average click-through rate of 2.12% over 4 months. In order to track the results, I monitored website activity through Google Analytics.

WORK EXPERIENCE​​

​Your Design Partner is an interior design firm that offers everything from a complete redesign to simply helping customers get started on their own DIY project. During my time working for the company, I wrote weekly blog posts on WordPress for over 300 daily readers, designed new promotional items and marketing techniques to distribute those products, and contacted potential customers through cold calls, emails, or face-to-face to develop client relationships.

I managed a team of 5 people to create a 3-week Google AdWords campaign for a martial arts company called Leaders For Life. This was completed through the Google Online Marketing Challenge, from which we were provided a $250 budget to create a successful campaign.



International Collegiate Conference (March 21-23, 2013)

I recently attended the collegiate conference sponsored by the American Marketing Association where I had the opportunity to hear distinguished marketing professionals speak and meet other AMA students. Additionally, our chapter was awarded the honors of outstanding membership and outstanding professional development.



Donate Life America Case Competition (September - December 2012)

I established a marketing communications plan for Donate Life America in order to build a passion for donation within the target market, ultimately leading to donor registration. I also built a timeline for implementation of the plan, including the budget and advertisements to be included.

EDUCATION

I am currently pursuing my Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Applied Management in order to further polish my business skills and understanding of the business environment as a whole. At Eastern Illinois University I am a member of the MBA Association and American Marketing Association.

Illini Student Musicals

Marketing Team

Illini Student Musicals is a student-run organization that focuses on the performance of musical theatre and puts on one show every semester. I contribute by advertising the spring musical, Little Shop of Horrors, through distribution of flyers, a Facebook event, the organization's website, and word-of-mouth to increase ticket sales and awareness of Illini Student Musicals.

Salsapreneurship Club

​Treasurer

Salsapreneurship Club is a registered student organization where students with an interest in entrepreneurship can talk about business ideas while eating salsa. As treasurer, I collect and monitor fundraising monies and dues from an average of 25 members per semester, record and update member enrollment using Microsoft Excel, and maintain a budget to ensure there is a surplus for successive semesters.

Marketing Graduate Assistant - EIU Office of Study Abroad

In Eastern Illinois University's Office of Study Abroad, I assist students throughout their study abroad application process and encourage students across campus to study abroad during their college career. I am also responsible for all marketing and promotions for study abroad across campus. I design materials such as flyers and banners for programs and events such as the Study Abroad Fair using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and PowerPoint. Multiple times per week I present to groups of 20 to 100 students on my study abroad experiences and spark their interest to study abroad. I advise students who are considering studying abroad and guide them through all aspects of the application process. I am currently coordinating and planning all areas of a study abroad photo contest, including an awards ceremony for the winners. I regulary manage and update the office website using OmniUpdate and Adobe Dreamweaver, and I am also responsible for staying active will all social media accounts.
